Who we are
During the COVID-19 pandemic, an article published in a small journal about cardiothoracic intensive care medicine resulted in personal connections across institutions. The ensuing conversations resulted in a realization that there is no platform where CTICU intensivists of different backgrounds can come together to discuss CTICU topics. This resulted in an agreement to establish a multidisciplinary, grassroots group of intensivists working in cardiothoracic ICUs, not connected to any current society or political structures. This group, known as C4, seeked to create a community for CTICU intensivists of different primary specialties. Since then, the group has been meeting for over 3 years collaborating on educational and research projects in addition to providing members a forum for discussion of this unique field of CTCCM.
